What is the most memorable mathematics lesson that you have every participated in? It could have happened this year, last year, or any other time in your life. Write about that lesson, what you remember about it, and why it was so successful for you.
Ms. Angelica: I can recall my 10th grade Geometry teacher, Ms. Powell using dice to motivate students to actively participate in class. She used dice to assign seats, present unanswered questions as “Questions on the Floor,” and give extra credit work. I was a shy student so I dreaded the dice but it is the one thing that sticks out in my mind. I was no longer reclusive in class and I verbally participated. In essence, it build my confidence as a student.
Write the rule for each of the following types of problems:
Multiplying and dividing monomials, and raising monomials to a power
M: bases are the same, add exponents
D: bases are the same, subtract exponents
R: raise power to power, multiply exponents
Write without a negative exponent:
When you write a monomial without a negative exponent, always remember that you perform the inverse of the monomial.

when a monomial is raised to a negative exponent, you would perform the opposite operation which is division. Another name for it is inverse or reciprocal.
